The Amarilla Onion produces a large, slightly flattened bulb with a yellow, straw coloured skin and a fine neck. This is a good onion variety to be eaten fresh as well as dried and is often used as a 'canning' onion. It is an early variety when compared to onion of a similar colour and type.Sow the Amarilla Onion either directly or under cover during October, November, December or into early January. If transplanting then this should be done after 10-12 weeks and leave around 15cm between plants and 40cm between rows. Harvesting should take place between July through until early October.SOW: October - December under cover 1cm deep.QUANTITY: Approximately 1500 seeds per packet.TRANSPLANT: 8-weeksDISTANCE: Rows set approximately 40cm apart leaving 15cm between each plantHARVEST: July onwards
