Cabbage seeds for the Quintal of Alsace produce a variety of cabbage that is native to France. It is a rustic variety and is very productive giving large heads with leaves mid-green in colour. These cabbages grow with slightly flattened heads and like any type of soil. This variety should be sown quite lightly to avoid thinning and when planting outside keep the stems deep in the soil. This cabbage likes regular watering during the dryer periods and once picked should be eaten nice and quickly to preserve the vitamins. Sow the cabbage seeds from March until June and harvest from August right through until late November or early December.
