Cat Mint (Nepeta cataria)Also known as Catnip, this perennial will grow to a height of around 80-100 cm high. Whitish flowers with oval shaped leaves, the flowers will bloom between July and August. The leaves can be used to aromatize roast meat and sauces. Catmint tea has a calmative effect and stimulates the digestion.
It is also loved by cats who chew and lick the leaves as well as rolling on the plants.
SOW: March-April in a seedbed and transplant in June; April or May directly in the open ground. DISTANCE: 50 cm between rows; 20-30 cm between plants. QUANTITY: 1 gr. of seed per sq. m. HARVEST: All year round. |
