Chives (Allium schoenoprasum)

Perennial. Oval bulbs in tight clumps, green pointed leaves, 15 cm long. Pink or violet flowers. Fresh leaves can be chopped to flavour salads and sauces.

SOWING: from February to April directly outdoors or in a seed-bed in Autumn or Spring.
DISTANCE: 15-20 cm. between plants; 20-30 cm. between rows.
QUANTITY: 2 gr. of seed per sq. m. For direct outdoor sowing, 4 gr. of seed per sq. m.
HARVEST: May to October (or later under cover).
