Tropaoelum majus - Climbing Nasturtium As the name suggests this is a climbing variety of nasturtium which will climb to around 60cm (2 foot) and will also creep so is ideal to fill a wall space, on a balcony or even to grow within a bush. It has the most beautiful coloured heads that range from dark orange through to yellow and all combinations inbetween. The Tropaoelum majus is a fast growing, annual variety with rounded almost kidney shaped, pale green leaves and flowers that measure around 5-6cm wide.
The seeds should be sown during March, April, May and June and the flowers will be in bloom right through until October. They do like sunshine so a bright position will get the most out of the nasturtium but we have used them to brighten a north facing wall and they look fantastic.
