If you keep space for one white-flowering plant this year, it should be this Cosmos. A star in the border, it is beautiful in its simplicity. The soft fresh-green foliage is the perfect foil for the profusion of graceful, white daisy-like flowers, which can grow as large as 4 inches in diameter. Once out, the flowers have good staying power, revelling in the Summer sun until Autumn. This is a plant that is easy to grow from seed. It needs little maintenance, and asks for very little in return. It is also useful as a cut flower.
