It may be big but the Crown Prince Pumpkin does like a little protection from the wind and a nice sunny position with some light, well fed soil. As you can see from the photo this variety of pumpkin has an unusual blue/grey skin and bright orange pump that has a sweet, nutty flavour which makes this a really good eating variety.

Not only this but it can reach 4kg in weight which is one heck of a lot of soup!

SOW: March under cover May - June direct to soil planting 2-3cm deep
QUANTITY: Each pack contains around 12 plants
TRANSPLANT: 6-8 weeks
DISTANCE: Allow 1-meter between plants and 1.5-meters between rows.
HARVEST: September - October
