Dandelion (Taraxacum officinalis)

The Dandelion is a perennial plant that grows between 20-30 cm high, with long, deep-toothed leaves and yellow flowers. The leaves are very popular in the Mediterranean region when added to and eaten raw in salads or cooked like spinach.

SOW: from March to June in a seed bed, transplant in June or July.
DISTANCE: at intervals of 10 cm, with 30 cm between rows.
QUANTITY: 2 gr. of seeds per sq. metre of seed bed.
HARVEST: August to October (or later under cover).
