Beetroot seeds for the Forono produce a variety of beetroot that should maybe not win too many beauty contests. Having said this why would a beetroot be entering a beauty contest in the first place? The Forono produces a long root rather than the more common round root and has a nice flavour. As with many varieties of beetroot they prefer loose, well-worked soil and don't water too much. You should really just water enough to keep the soil moist so that it will not dry out. Again, as with many varieties, the Forono is quite happy being grown in a pot which is something that not many people think about doing.

SOW: February - March
QUANTITY: Each packet contains enough seeds for 8 - 10m2 of surface
TRANSPLANT: March - April planting around 3cm deep thinning again after 4-6 weeks
DISTANCE: about 0.8-meters between rows and 0.1-meters between plants.
HARVEST: September onwards
