Chrysanthemum coronarium
A hardy annual Asian speciality, also called Chop Suey Greens or Shingiku, rich in vitamins and antioxidants. Leaves have a spicy aromatic taste, for use in salads or slightly steamed with rice and noodles. Easy to grow in most soils in a sunny or semi shaded position. Will flower in warm conditions,and this pretty addition is great for cut flowers. Cultivated for the flower border as well as for the leaves.

GROWING INFORMATION
SOW: March to September under cover or from April outdoors. Distance approx 15cm.
GERMINATION: Germinates at 12—20 ºC after 7 - 14 days.
HARVEST: Young leaves harvested until it flowers July to Sept.

TIPS FOR USE
Popular in Korean casseroles as well as in Cantonese cuisine and that of Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Add at the last minute to cooking to retain its structure.
