Herb Seeds - Basil Seeds - Basil Genovese

Italian Genovese basil is a favourite of all gardeners and chefs. It has a particularly strong fragrance and flavour making it excellent for almost any basil dish, particularly Italian pesto. Vigorous and productive plant with medium-large light green leaves. Leaves are spoon-shaped, very aromatic and can be picked gradually (cut and come again) as a classic seasoning for all dishes, especially for authentic pesto sauce. Basil can also be used for the extraction of herbalist essences, as well as for dried use. Combines well with garlic. Suitable for container growing in winter. Average 3600 seeds per packet.

SOW: under glass in February-March; open field from May to August.
QUANTITY: 1 gr. of seed per sq. m. of seedbed; 10 gr. of seed per sq. m. of ground (direct).
TRANSPLANT: at the end of May from the seedbed.
DISTANCE: 30 cm between plants.
HARVEST May - October (or later under cover).
