Allium porrum

An early leek variety with upright, smooth stems and medium long shafts. Vigorous and heavy yielding. Mild flavour. Can be harvested small. Frost hardy so can be left to stand and lifted as required.
Pelleted seed creates a uniform shape and is easier to sow with optimum placement under most soil conditions.

GROWING INFORMATION
SOW: January - April in a seedbed or direct to plot.
TRANSPLANT: March - May.
HARVEST: August - December

TIPS FOR USE
Leeks are easy to grow and store well in the ground, taking up little space. When transplanting, dig holes and place seedlings to the top of the leaves. Mound soil over the base as they grow to blanch stems. Leeks can be used as part of a base in most dishes or just blanched and baked in cheese sauce.
