Chicory seed for the Mantovano Capotta produce a variety renowned for the superb taste and very high quality leaves that have a great slight peppery taste. The Mantovana grows light coloured leaves that do not look unlike an Iceberg Lettuce. Depending upon the weather the seeds of this chicory can be sown directly into the soil or under cover during the months of July and August.
