Fennel seed of the early Mantovano fennel will produce a vigorous plant with a large, round and very white bulb full of crunch and a sweet flavour. This variety of fennel can be eaten either raw or cooked. One of the main benefits of this variety of fennel is that it resists bolting so can be sown in the Spring for harvesting in the Summer. Fennel seeds can be used in cooking too. Sow seeds May to August and harvest August to September.

SOW: May - June direct into your soil or August in seedbed
QUANTITY: Each packet contains around 2000 seeds
TRANSPLANT: Thinning after 8 - 12 weeks
DISTANCE: about 0.4-meters between rows and 0.2-meters between plants.
