Melon Charente, or Charentais, is a variety of melon that produces very round fruits with a light green skin that has a hint of orange closer to the soil. The flesh of this melon is bright orange with a mild perfume. The seeds are best sown directly outside during the months of April and May and even into early June if the weather has been cold. It likes good deep soil and plenty of heat so a south facing position is ideal however it does not like the soil to be too warm. Harvesting is from August through until early October for the seed that were sown later.SOW: April - May direct into plot or under cover at a depth of 3-4 cm with 3-4 seeds per holeQUANTITY: Approximately 80 seeds per packetTRANSPLANT: Thinning after 3-4 weeksDISTANCE: about 1-meters between rows and 0.6-meters between plants.HARVEST: August - SeptemberPeople who bought this item also bought:
