Aubergine seeds for the Ornamental Eggplant produce fruits but the fruits of this aubergine (or eggplant) are edible they are normally used for their ornamental value. The aubergine grows very attractive purple flowers and white fruits which make this an ideal pot plant. These fruits are very unusual and can be eaten in the same way as many other varieties of aubergine however it is very popular to paint them and pass on as gifts.

Sow under glass all year round and unless you have a very sheltered and sunny position it is better to keep this variety within the greenhouse or as a pot plant in your home. It will fruit between June and July and the plant will grow up to 80cm in height.
