Herb Perilla also known as Black Nettle is an aromatic and spicy herb that is a classic Sushi condiment. Just pick the fresh leaves and blossoms for seasoning and decoration.

An aromatic and spicy herb with red leaves used as a classic sushi ingredient or in oriental fish stews. Said to resemble basil in taste, it is sometimes called Chinese basil or beefsteak plant in English. Seeds produce a rich edible oil and leaves are pretty as garnish.

Sow from March until July with harvesting from May until October. The plant can grow upto 60cm in height and likes any type of soil but does not like to become waterlogged.
