Okay we all know that Jimi Hendrix liked a bit of Purple Haze but was it a carrot or a particular type of purple cannabis he was singing about? Well knowing 60's music, as I do, it was obviously the Purple Haze carrot as healthy eating was a big part of the 60's pop culture.
The Purple Haze carrot is very similar to the Nantes carrot and is very sweet so very popular eaten raw in salads. The root is longer and slightly thinner than the Nantes and obviously slightly more purple in colour.

SOW: March - August direct to field or under cover
QUANTITY: Approximately 500 seeds per pack
GERMINATION: Thinning after 4 - 6 weeks
DISTANCE: Sow in a continuous line at a depth of 2-3 cm.
HARVEST: June - October
