The Kabocha squash is a sort very popular in Japan where it is used for tempura, salads and soups as well as making sweets and often known as Ebisu Kuri. It is a prolific variety with small and delicious sweet tasting fruit, described as a mix between squash and sweet potato and weighing up to 1.5KG. Green skin with an intense yellow flesh rich in vitamins and beta carotene. Early maturing with excellent storage properties. The kabocha squash is harvested when still growing so does not need to be eaten fresh. It is matured in a warm place for a couple of weeks and then stored in a cool place in a couple of months to develop its sweet succulent taste.The flesh can be mashed, roasted, used in soups and much more.Sow indoors April to May or outdoors until June.Transplant May to June 50-80cm on the row, 2m apart or 1 plant per m2.Harvest August to November.Approx 5 Gr per pktPeople who bought this item also bought:
