Aubergine seeds for this variety produce a wonderfully authentic and very famous Greek augergine (Eggplant) which is ideal for moussaka!

Every summer the area of Leonidio in the Tsakonian region of Greece celebrates this Tsakoniki eggplant and renowned international chefs are brought in to judge the recipes created. The fruit is very attractive with a light purple colour and white lines. This is the sweetest of the Greek varieties of aubergine so the EEC has developed a sticker for fruit grown in the region.
