Aubergine seeds for the Violetta di Firenze (Violet Florentine) produce an aubergine variety that has particular stunning lavender fruits, striped with creamy white tops. When picked early the skin is thin enough to leave unpeeled when cooking. The flavor is at its best when given plenty of sun and heat so plant in a sunny, sheltered position.
