Wild Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) Perennial plant, 150-200 cm. high with brilliant, green, large leaves and yellow flowers. It has a slightly more bitter flavour than cultivated fennel and is used various ways in cooking, especially for roast meats. Finely chopped, it is also used in many sauces. It has diuretic properties.
SOWING: broadcast in seedbeds or directly outdoors in rows, from June to September. DISTANCE: 20-25 cm between plants; 40 cm between rows. QUANTITY: 0.5 gr. of seed per sq. m.; 3-4 gr. of seed per sq. m. for direct sowing. |
